Additionally, the survey found that the majority of participants were satisfied with their Massachusetts jobs based on the work/life balance factor.

* Professional, Scientific and Business

In March over 1,000 Massachusetts jobs were added in these sectors. This came after a February gain of over 3,100. And with over 488,300 employees of these sectors, overall employment is up from 2% over last year.

* Leisure and Hospitality

An addition of 1,200 new jobs were added to these two sectors in 2007. A total of 305,200 jobs fall under this category, which is an increase of 2,600 jobs over the year.

* Manufacturing, Construction, Information

While manufacturing saw a gain of about 200 jobs in the month of March, employment in this sector is still down by about 1.3% from last year. Construction is also down by 1.5% but gained about 200 jobs in March. The information sector, however, increased by about 200 jobs in March and had an added 2,100 jobs over the whole year of 2007 with a 2.4 % increase.

While these figures are all from 2007, they do signal that Massachusetts jobs and jobs in Boston are still gaining.
